Meet my family.

A quick intro to me and my growing family!

FAMILY LIFE UPDATES

1/8/2025

I'd like to take this opportunity to introduce you to my growing family. From left to right is Kaia (3), Alyna (2), Chloe (13), me (32 and pregnant with Noah) and my husband Rick (42).

I met my husband Rick and his daughter Chloe in the fall of 2018. We moved in together October 2019 and we all know what happened a few months later.... COVID lockdowns really put our relationship through a lot of tests very quickly. I was out of work so we depended solely on his income, his daughter moved in with us full time so we could handle her homeschooling (since her mom had a day job), and I got my first taste of what it would feel like to be a parent and housewife.

I never would have expected it, but I THRIVED in those trying conditions. That is also when I really began my wellness journey since I had the new responsibility of keeping a child healthy, so I had to step up my game and do some learning. As I cleaned up our lifestyles, I found that I wasn't as anxious or depressed as before.

We married in October 2020, and I got pregnant a month later. During this pregnancy I was diagnosed with BPD and put on a revolving door of medications, trying to "fix" myself. Kaia was born July 2021 and I soon ditched the meds and went all in on my clean lifestyle. I will do a more detailed post at a later time, but basically, I found ways to manage my symptoms through lifestyle changes (under my psych's supervision) and am currently able to maintain a fairly steady mood without medications (I AM NOT PROMOTING ANYONE STOPPING THEIR PSYCH MEDS WITHOUT DOCTOR SUPERVISION, EVERY INDIVIDUAL IS DIFFERENT).

I knew I wanted my children close in age, so we were blessed with Alyna in November 2022, and I am currently expecting my first son, due February 2025.

We live in Hawaii on the island of Oahu where my husband and his family are from. I was originally from Texas, but I have grown to love living in paradise. I was in college but since having kids my priorities have shifted, and I dropped out (hoping to return soon!).

I am a mother, stepmother, wife, and friend. It has taken time and trial and error to find a good balance of all of those roles, and I still don't do it perfectly, but I do feel that I have found my groove overall. I have finally found my calling in life, and I hope to share my journey with all of you so we can support each other, and each find our own personal best balance!
